Professional Automated Trading Setup

Welcome to the official EdgeFX Bots installation center.
This guide will walk you through the complete setup process for your EdgeFX trading robot on MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5.

Before You Start Requirements

Before installing your robot, make sure you have:

• MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 installed

• An active Forex trading account

• Your EdgeFX EA file (.ex4 or .ex5)

• Your set file (.set)

• Stable internet connection

• VPS recommended for 24/7 trading

Step 1 — Download Your Robot

Log into your EdgeFX client dashboard and download:

• Expert Advisor file

• Preset / Set file

• Installation package

Step 3 — Install the Expert Advisor

For MT4:

MQL4 → Experts

For MT5:

MQL5 → Experts

Copy your EdgeFX EA file into the folder.

Step 5 — Open the Recommended Chart

Open the trading pair recommended for your robot.

Example:

Robot Recommended PairTimeframe

EdgeFX Viper XAUUSDM5 / M15EdgeFX BullEURUSD / GBPUSDH1

EdgeFX TitanXAUUSDH1 / H4EdgeFX QuantumXAUUSD / EURUSDM15

Step 7 — Load the Preset File

Inside the EA settings window:

Inputs → Load

Select your .set file.

This automatically applies the optimized settings for your robot.

Step 2 — Open MetaTrader Data Folder

Inside MT4 or MT5:

File → Open Data Folder

Step 4 — Restart MetaTrader

Close and reopen your MetaTrader platform.

Your robot should now appear inside:

Navigator → Expert Advisors

Step 6 — Attach the Robot to the Chart

Drag the Expert Advisor onto the chart.

Enable:

• Allow Algo Trading

• Allow DLL Imports (if required)

Step 8 — Enable AutoTrading

At the top of MetaTrader:

Enable AutoTrading

If installed correctly:

• MT4 shows a smiley face 🙂

• MT5 shows an active EA icon

For optimal performance and low latency execution, we recommend:

Roboforex

Recommended Risk Settings

Conservative

• 0.5% – 1% risk per trade

Balanced

• 1% – 2% risk per trade

Aggressive

• 3%+ risk per trade

Common Issues

EA Not Showing in MetaTrader

• Restart platform

• Verify correct folder

• Refresh Navigator panel

AutoTrading Disabled

Enable:

Tools → Options → Expert Advisors

Check:

• Allow automated trading

Trades Not Opening

Possible causes:

• Wrong timeframe

• Market closed

• Incorrect broker suffix

• Insufficient balance

• VPS disconnected

Best Practices

To achieve the best performance:

• Use low spread brokers

• Keep VPS online 24/7

• Avoid changing optimized settings

• Use recommended pairs only

• Monitor major economic news
